Jul.01.2005 :: P2P Technology and the Spreading of Humanism:

Scooter Scudieri will provide a look at rocking on your own in music, attitude and life on July 10, 2005 at 1:30 PM at the C. Burr Arts Frederick Central Library's Community Room, 110 East Patrick St., Frederick, MD.

Scooter's music video (DVD) "Mother of God" is spreading like wildfire on the P2P computer networks with downloads in the tens of thousands in a few short months. The song raises a question about whether the myriad forms of religion might be a universal mass psychosis. Humans are taught to love and to hate. Amidst controversy, it goes as far as to suggest a higher power than God; "I don't want to talk to God I want to talk to his Mother." The sarcastic yet sincerely delivered chorus asks; "What are we some kind of joke?" The video was shot guerilla style in churches, mosques, temples, and oil fields which were flanked in post production by images of war from the National Archives. His views of life are also spread by flyers tucked under windshield wipers of those whose bumper stickers suggest a kindred spirit. For more information on Scooter see www.firstrockstar.com for music and video downloads and calendar of appearances.

Scooter also teaches a class on self promotion and the future of the music business without the benefit/distraction of an agent, manager, or record company. He is endorsed by MEIEA (Music Entertainment Industry Educators Association) and was recently made a member of the DCIA (Distributed Computing Industry Association)

Scooter will be presenting to members of the Frederick Secular Humanists (FRESH) open meeting. FRESH presents educational programs for the public promoting reason, tolerance and critical thinking outside a religious framework to better human experience.
