Science and Fiction
John J Scudieri ©2003
Troubled child, no sense in making it worse We've all been dealt a bad hand It's not like you've been cursed Take a good look around, we are all clinging to life Hoping for the best, on guard for the blinding light Trouble only travels so far For those who are not content To live on the scraps of life, and begged opinions No one knows the right way In fact, no one knows at all While we soldier all our energy, we miss the call Youre older now, so many times and many ways The science and the fiction, led you astray Youre only one man, so very kind and very strange To spend your whole existence deep within the day You understand the hardest times, the hardest ways Are touched by all the sweetness Of the science and the fiction Trouble steps in quickly as you wait on a missed transition All the karma you ever wanted In a fumbled acquisition You've folded, you're left with nothing All your secrets have been canned You've got to think like a hero To be a decent man You're older now, so many times and many ways The science and the fiction, led you astray You're only one man, so very kind and very strange To spend your whole existence deep within the day You understand the hardest times, the hardest ways Are touched by all the sweetness Of the science and the fiction
